Best Man Speeches - The Solution
I shared in another article here about some of the key elements to giving great best man speeches.
These are absolutes - as far as they work, and they are universal, and they are easy to implement. So check them out.
OK so you've read the tips...what about the actual speech (or toast - depending on what terminology you like to use)?
A wedding is a wonderful occasion - full of pomp and ceremony - even 'casual' weddings have their own form of ceremony.
And as such, as Best Man you want to play your part - which along with making sure everything stays on track logistically with the wedding, the guarding of the rings, it also requires you to deliver one of the key speeches of the evening.
Jake, my husband faced this recently. And as I said before - whilst a confident man, he is more confident doing things, than writing and giving a speech to an audience that is more than me :-)
We are big fans of the Internet and the fact that you can find solutions to most 'problems' through running a search.
So we thought we'd adopt the same approach. We didn't really know at this time what we'd find. We were just open to it.
Of course we loved the idea of finding free stuff - and we also both know from experience you get what you pay for (and wanting everything for nothing is not particularly attractive - why shouldn't people value themselves, their time and their knowledge...).
So on our little journey we went - well it was B.I.G. for Jake - as he was sweating it.
And what we found killed the perspiration on his forehead immediately - or it did once he comprehended and downloaded what it was offering.
We found this wonderful kit of ready made best man speeches . It was so cheap that we didn't mind getting it and biffing it if it was no good.
And were we pleasantly surprised!
Basically you get this awesome kit which has over 20 pre-written best man speeches - written by professional writers (who have been best men themselves!).
And it doesn't stop there either!
You also get some useful tips on how to deliver (and I even learnt a thing or two - and I do it for a living!).
And some great jokes - one liners and very funny 'stories'.
Now here's the kicker - and the thing that I was wondering 'how would they pull this off?'
Our biggest reservation was that they may well be pre-written, BUT would they suit the Bride & Groom who Jake would be speaking about and toasting?

Of the 20 speeches we had to choose from...about 16 of them we could have actually used for our bride and groom!
This is craftsmanship - and a relief for Jake.
OK - so this all seems great...
What about the "Big Day"? How did it go down?
Well...
Jake got a huge round of applause. The Bride and Groom had smiles on their faces. No one in the Bridal party had their nose out of joint. And overall it was a roaring success. And Jake actually enjoyed himself (hmmm, I wonder if I'll be sharing the stage with him sometime soon, lol!)
